JANUARY 28, 2010 The last 3 months have been a blur of preparations—from mapping out a route to inoculations to buying gear. I apologize if this is the first you’re hearing about my travels; if I had a nickel for every person I wish I had said goodbye to I would be in the first class lounge now. I digress, I’ll be backpacking through Asia until mid-August: Singapore; Java, Indonesia; Sri Lanka; peninsular Malaysia; Thailand; Laos; Cambodia; Vietnam. I’ll be back in Nashville by August 25 to celebrate my twenty-first birthday. Please take this as a casual goodbye and formal invitation to experience a taste of my upcoming year.
